Assuming that we're actually talking about Israel, then this could 1) fit into an eschatological context, or 2) fit into a historical context. The understanding of this verse isn't essential to the thesis, though.

I would suggest that your claim, that Rev. 12 is 100% historical, is not credible until you adequately explain how the 1,260 days fit into historical context.

Now, at first blush, I would agree that the battle (vss. 7-12) is historical. This would support your assertion that Satan no longer has access to heaven.

The angelic response, in vss. 10-12, indicates that this "locking Satan out of heaven" was considered the decisive battle in a war that is not yet, formally, over.

It appears that the weapon which effected this "turning point" in the war was "the blood of the Lamb" (vs. 11).

As a result, "the kingdom of our God...has come" (vs. 10).

So, to sum it up, heavenly battle surrounded the birth of our Lord, but the shedding of His blood was the weapon by which Satan was cast out of heaven; this casting out was considered the turning point of the war, and the event that effected the coming of Christ's kingdom to the earth.

Obviously, everything I've discussed here is historical. However, I remain unconvinced that vss. 6, 14-17 are historical. Please justify a Preterist understanding of these verses.Scott Clinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16876591259277154966noreply@blogger.com
